Providing Free EKGs to the Youth of Southern California
Sparkling Angel Charities is dedicated to promoting healthy hearts through community outreach education and identification programs for Long QT Syndrome (LQTS). Our mobile EKG screening program provides free EKGs for students at local high schools. The screenings help raise awareness of LQTS and generate valuable data for future research studies into this little known malady.

December 2009
Sparkling Angel Charities volunteers provided free EKG screenings to more than 1900 students at ten local high schools and community colleges in the past year. Since the free screening program was started in 2006, more than 5,600 students have been screened.

June 1, 2006
Sparkling Angel Charities launched a program to provide free EKG screenings at local schools. The first screening was conducted at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. Over 350 students participated.

September 25, 2004
Sparkling Angel Charities hosted a fun-filled and successful event at the Marconi Automotive Museum in Tustin, CA. Proceeds from the event were used to purchase six portable Philips EKG machines and supplies to be used for screenings at local high schools.

January 22, 2004
Providence Speech & Hearing Center hosted a gala ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the formal opening of the new "Sparkling Angel Charities Playground" in celebration of Kelly Weaver.

LQTS is an inherited disorder that causes sudden death in seemingly healthy, vibrant young people.

• As many as 60,000 people in the United States may have LQTS
